Gender Aspects of National Policy will be discussed in Petrozavodsk

On March 18-19, 2010 an International conference “Gender Aspects of National Policy” will be held in Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia. The conference will be organized by Karelian regional public women’s movement “Amal” (“Hope”) in cooperation with Petrozavodsk city Administration and financial support from Global Fund for Women.
 
Conference “Gender Aspects of National Policy” is a step towards the development of network cooperation in the interests of gender culture of multinational society. Human rights and freedoms issues in respect of women and men from various ethnic cultures will be the priorities for dialogue during plenary sessions, discussion panels and meetings. Such themes as nationality and gender stereotypes, status of women from migrant and indigenous communities, role of women in ethnic movement development, gender aspects of labour migration and human trafficking will be given a careful consideration in the framework of the conference.
 
Representatives of non-governmental non-commercial organizations, of scientific society and mass media are invited to take part in the conference. Participation is for free.
